Mesh Coatings were asked to provide a number of solutions for this residential home on the Kapiti Coast. A new floor was added to the top of the existing home and as the original plaster system on the house was no longer available, Mesh had to design a system to match the existing finish and texture as well as meet the tough and rugged weather conditions.
The Mediterranean style of the house meant Mesh had unique challenges to approach; the colonnade and the balustrades to the deck were fiddly, small columns required creative thinking and problem solving and difficult curves and details were formed in polystyrene and plastered by Mesh plaster craftsmen to match the remainder of the house.
To achieve the seamless look of the house, Mesh supplied and installed a Sto Poren light weight concrete façade panel to the exterior of the house plastered with a Sto Poren plaster system and finished with facade paint.
In addition to the cladding systems we supplied and installed an Equus De Boer 2-layer torch on roof membrane to the new plywood roof. The 2-layer torch on system provides a robust system for the tough coastal conditions and does not rot or rust which is a must when so close to the sea.
